I've recently become a big fan of birdcage veils. I love the vintage look and feel of them. Here are some great accessories I found on Etsy recently. Even if you want a traditional veil for the ceremony, a birdcage veil, flower or comb can be a great (fun) change for the reception.

I recently was lucky enough to take part in a photographer shootout with some of the areas best photographers. Here is a picture of me in a beautiful birdcage veil. LOVE the flower! Thanks to Danielle of Danielle Hopkins Photography for this great picture!

I check a number of wedding and event related blogs everyday. From photographers to planners, florists to bakers, stylists to DJs and even invitation designers. But I check a few, non-event related blogs as well. One of my favorites is Cake Wrecks. Depending on the day (or cake) Cake Wrecks is funny, sad, scary and sometimes "aw" inducing. If you like cake (and lets be honest, who doesn't?) or just need a good chuckle (gotta love the witty descriptions), visit the site, you'll be glad you did. Trust me!

On Saturday I co-threw a surprise engagement party for my best friend Marisa and her Fiance Joe. Her sister Kelly and I had been planning for a few months - when one of Joe's uncle's gave it away, Marisa started giving us a hard time. We managed to recover, re-lie and surprise her! It turned out to be a really nice party. Family, friends, tons of food and fun!

Here are some pictures (I apologize for the fuzziness).

The invitation: A sand colored cardstock backing with white mounted on top and a turquoise blue ribbon accent - The introduction to our tropical theme.

We used turquoise satin runners on white table clothes. On the 3 banquet tables we scattered some shells and a few fuchsia dendrobium orchids.

Four of the round tables had this small floral centerpiece - the vase was lined with a tea leaf and the arrangement is made up of white hydrangea, mini green hydrangea and jade roses.

The 3 other round tables had over sized martini glasses - there were marbles in the base with 3 floating candles and 5 dendrobium orchids.

Their cake - half chocolate, half vanilla, all yummy.

With spring right around the corner, I thought I'd post about one of my new favorite drinks. Matt and I went to Chaddsford Winery last month and did a tasting. I'm not a big drinker, and have never been a fan of wine, but I'm working on it. At Chaddsford they have something called Sangri-La Sangria. It's really good. I went back today to get a couple of more bottles and got a recipe for a slushi type thing using the sangria. Ingrediants: 1 bottle sangria, 12 oz lemonade concentrate and a blender full of ice. Direcetions: blend. Wine slushy, what could be bad?

Philadelphia Flower Show

I hope you were all able to make it to the Flower Show last week. The theme was Bella Italia, very romantic. I know the weather wasn't great and it was a zoo, but it was worth it! There were many local floral designers exhibiting and flowers were amazing. Such a great scent through out the convention center. Here are a few photos I took.

Lindsay and Joe were married February 29, 2008 on a clear but rather chilly day. They had a beautiful ceremony in a tent on Lindsay's parents property, followed by a fun reception at The Westin, Mount Laurel. Lindsay and Joe are an extremely sweet, laid back couple, and I wish them all the best!

Hawaii!

Matt and I just got back from a 10 day vacation in Hawaii! It was an amazing trip. What a beautiful, calm and serene place! I promise to get back on track soon with some pictures of new designs and what I've been working on. For now, here are a few pictures from our trip!

Sandy Cove Scrapbooking Retreat

This past weekend I went on a scrapbooking retreat with my mom, mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Three full days of scrapbooking! It was a great weekend! We shared a lot of laughs, I got a ton accomplished, and even helped a few of the ladies with their projects.

Favors

Over the past few years I have found that edible favors seem to be the most popular type of favor given at a shower or wedding other than donations. I think it is the most economical as they don't tend to be too expensive, and who doesn't like a gift they can eat? Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had everyone at our house and it was really nice. We ate a ton (Love fried turkey!), laughed a lot and played some games. I just wanted to share my placecards and favors - it can be a lot of fun to add little touches to a holiday table.

Cornucopias of sugar cones, white chocolate, crushed heath bar or mini m&m's filled with fall colored Jelly Beans. These were a huge hit! I think the adults liked them more than the kids :).

Table numbers and alternatives

A fun way to continue your theme, show pictures of you and your fiance throughout your relationship or give your guests a glimpse into your life together is through table number alternatives. There are some great examples on The Knot, click here to see them.
Below are some examples of table numbers and number alternatives that I've done.

Lindsay and Joe used places that had meaning to them as their

Jaime and John decided to use ages as their table identifiers.
On each table were pictures of them at the corresponding age.

Jen and Kevin decided to use numbers, but embellish them
with the shade of blue they used throughout the wedding.
We also used it on their invitations, placecards, menus and programs.

Chocolate Decadence

Tonight I attended and had an interactive table at eWomen Networks Evening of Chocolate Decadence. All of the proceeds went to eWomen's foundation which supports causes geared towards women and children. Pat Ciarrocchi of CBS 3 received the first ever Sweet Charity award. It was a fun night with a lot of chocolate. I spent the evening showing people how to make peanut butter cups, caramels, and chocolate covered cherries, among other things. It was a lot of fun!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast Cancer is a disease that millions of women and their families face everyday. It is highly curable but women are still losing their battles daily. Here are some pictures from the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk I did in Boston on October 5 with my family. We were celebrating my mother's 10 year fight!

Emma & Liam

Emma & Liam's wedding was Saturday and it was so much fun! Emma was a stunning bride and her and Liam's family and friends were very welcoming! On top of doing all of their stationary, I had the privilege of coordinating and working on this incredible wedding. Wedding Design by MJ did all of the floral and decor and everything came out absolutely beautiful!

My Trash the Dress session

On Sunday I did a Trash the Dress/Portrait session with Marc Matteo of Marc Anthony Photography. I had SO much fun! He got some great pictures of Matt and I and a ton of fun and different pictures of me. Marc is a great photographer and a ton of fun! Emily from Cheekadee did my make up. She did an amazing job and is such a sweetheart! I highly recommend her!

Hey everyone! I am new to blogging, but I think this will be a great way for me to share my newest projects as well as interesting stationary and wedding trends and advice.

My business is still relatively new but I am hoping to grow it a lot over the next few months. It's a busy time of year but I hope to update often with new pictures of my stuff as well as advice and maybe even random thoughts.
